He is best known for his time with All Japan Pro Wrestling, where he has had two reigns as Triple Crown Heavyweight Champion. In the past he worked for Total Nonstop Action Wrestling and also previously signed with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), where he competed in their developmental territory Florida Championship Wrestling under the ring name Drake Brewer.

Doering was trained at the Can-Am Wrestling School / Total Nonstop Action Wrestling School in 2004. On December 19, 2004, Doering wrestled his first match for Border City Wrestling (BCW), where he was defeated by D-Ray 3000.

Doering's next fight would be with Zodiac, whom he defeated on May 25, 2008, in a hair vs. mask match. On October 28, 2008, Doering turned and joined Voodoo Murders, where he would team up with former rival Zodiac. The team entered the 2008 World's Strongest Tag Determination League, where they finished third.

On February 25, 2010, Doering made his debut in Florida Championship Wrestling, WWE's developmental territory under his real name, where he lost to Johnny Prime. On March 18, he defeated Prime in a rematch under the name Drake Brewer. In September 2010, it was reported that Doering had been released from his developmental contract.

One championship

In 2012, Leakee covered FCW Florida Heavyweight Champion Leo Kruger during a tag team match on the January 8 episode of FCW.[10] On the February 5 episode of FCW, he defeated Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins in a Triple Threat Match to become the #1 contender to the FCW Florida Heavyweight Championship. [11] However, he was unable to win the championship when he lost to then-champion Kruger the following week.[12] Leakee later won the FCW Florida Tag Team Championships with Mike Dalton,[13][14] and would lose the titles to CJ Parker & Jason Jordan shortly thereafter.[15] Reigns made his debut in FCW in February.

Reigns made his main roster debut on November 18 at Survivor Series alongside Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins, attacking Ryback during the main event for the WWE Championship, allowing CM Punk to retain the title. [21] The trio called themselves The Shield and vowed to rally against "injustice" while denying working for Punk, though they would routinely come out of the crowd to attack Punk's opponents, including Ryback and WWE Team Hell No Tag Team Champions (Daniel Bryan & Kane). [22][23][24][25] This led to a Six-Man Tag Team Tables, Ladders and Chairs Match on December 16 at TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs in which Reigns, Ambrose & Rollins defeated Team Hell No & Ryback in their debut. [26] The Shield continued to assist Punk in January 2013, attacking both Ryback and The Rock, Reigns' real-life cousin.[27][28] On the January 28 episode of Raw, it was revealed that Punk and his manager Paul Heyman had been paying The Shield and Brad Maddox to work for them.[29]
