Within the line of teacher training, in this paper we present aspects of a research with future primary school teachers, where we focus on understanding how the students of the University of Granada interpret the goal as an element of analysis of a school mathematical task, framed within the Didactic Analysis as a functional tool in initial training. A qualitative methodology has been followed, through content analysis. The background evidences the importance of school tasks to favor the learning of mathematics, and the results show us the difficulty that future teachers have in establishing and defining the goal of a school mathematical task.
